Rum 46 is starting their 2022 exhibitions program “Works That Hurt” this March. I have had the honour of being the first exhibitor with a solo exhibition under the headline “Borders”.
I am showing two works, “Grænsesøgende” and “55 drops of regret”. The works circle around immigration; “Grænsesøgende” is a humorous and exaggerated representation of the terrifying and invasive political decisions affecting immigrants in Denmark, personified by former minister of immigration, Inger Støjberg, while “55 drops of regret” deal with the emotional consequences and personal turmoil that can haunt a person post-migration.
Both works are from 2017 but have gained new dimensions through more recent political, social and societal events that bring new light and recontextualization.
The exhibition runs from 4th of March to 4th April
